Fostering
Foster a Dog & Save a Life
Foster homes are always urgently needed. The more fosterers we have - the more dogs we can save!
Foster A Dog
Could you foster a dog? When dogs come into the care of Cara Rescue Dogs, they are sent to foster families to care for them until such time as a ‘forever home’ can be found or until the dog can be reunited with their owner.
Some of these dogs have been the victims of animal cruelty or poorly cared for but there are others who have been well cared for and have become separated from their owner or their owners circumstances have changed and the dogs have been surrendered to Cara. Whatever the circumstances, these dogs need lots of TLC to make them feel safe and secure and where better to receive this than in the heart of a family or with an individual who can provide the love and companionship that every dog deserves.
The more foster homes which can be secured the more dogs can be saved by Cara Rescue Dogs. There is a constant need for foster families who are in a position to provide the care and understanding these dogs require in a loving patient manner in a safe environment.
How Fostering Works
After filling in an application form, potential fosterers will receive a follow up from one of our volunteers and a home check visit will be arranged.
No costs will be incurred by the foster family. All food and veterinary costs are covered by Cara Rescue Dogs who will also provide bedding, bowls, leash, toys etc.
Fostering is hugely rewarding and allows you to help address the problem of unwanted dogs in a practical way.
